Hostel
The purpose of the hostel is to promote residential facilities to the students and working men who are in sympathy with the purpose of YMCA and preferably those who have no home in Ranchi (home away from home). At present we have accommodation facilities for 61 persons. We also involve the inmates in various YMCA programmes such as Debate, Quiz, Seminars, Camps, Sports, Spiritual Programmes, etc., to boost their confidence for their future and their own growth. General Programs
Christmas get-to-gether
We have celebrated Christmas get-to-gether at City Branch on 20th December 2005. All the branches took part and performed Christmas programme on this day. Fr. Linus Kujur, S.J. was the Chief Guest and delivered the Christmas Message. Around 425 members participated in the programme.
YMCA/YWCA week of Prayer
YMCA/YWCA week of prayer and World Fellowship was observed from November 13 to November 19, 2005 under the theme "Who counts in the eyes of God".
Sports
Mini Football Tournment
21st Inter School Mini Football Tournment was organized from september 10 to 24, 2005 ar st. Paul's High School, Play Ground, Ranchi. In this Tournment 19 School were participated. Prabhat Tara School, Dhurwa was the winner and G.E.L. School, Amlesa was the Runner-up. Mr. Theophil Jhon Tiru was selected as promising player of teh year and being given stipend of Rs. 500/- per month.
Chess Tournment
YMCA Ranchi Distric Chess Tournment was organized from February 25 to 28, 2005 at YMCA, City Branch. In this tournment 28 partcipant took part and Mr. Swaraj Palit was winner and Mr. Manoj kumar was the runner-up.
YMCA and its Ecumenicial Concern
YMCA Ranchi is always making efforts to unity the Churches while marinating their individual identities and to-day YMCA is taking leading towards to bring all Churches together from common ecumenical issues. As part of its concern, committee organizes various revival meetings through different Churches during the year. This year the Unity Church service was held on January 22, 2006 at Bishop's School Ground, Old H.B. Road, ranchi.
